I added Kentucky Blue to my RPR Ryegrass for self repair and spreading in the event of dead patches. And as predicted I had chemical and some aninal urine burn occur. Within a month the patches practically recovered.
Germination within 3 days. First mow on day 21. Soft to touch, strong medium colour, good shade tolerence. Filling in nicely.
Photos at 4 months.
I am not into gardening but I had a patch of lawn that was always bare. Too much shade. One day after rain I disturbed the soil with a garden hoe and then raked it. Spread some Ryegrass seed over the area (.5meter x 35 meters) and went inside for a cup of tea. That's all. Now the bare patch is covered with bright green grass. Terrific.
Turnaround time from ordering to receiving very quick. Seeds are in the ground and now growing. What more could you ask for.
After months of research I decided a ryegrass lawn would tick all the boxes for my Canberra lawn.
Its frost, wear and shade tolerance were perfect along with the pseudo-stolons of the RPR to help fill in any areas sounded too good to be true. What I was not prepared for was the unbelievable dark green colouring of this lawn.. it looks amazing.
I laid the seed in early August , which in hindsight may have been too early as along with some nice high-teens temps we were still getting regular frosts. I think this caused the first shoots not to come up until about 18 days later as the backyard was seeded in october and had germination within 7-9 days
24AUG2021- about 20+ after seeding
07OCT2021 - after second mow
So excited to give my new lawn its first haircut on the weekend. The area I sowed is quite large and half is in a slope and I am very happy with the result. The seeds germinated after 14 days and have been growing ever since. I have since germinated another section and it is also going well. The purchase and delivery of the seeds was excellent.I'm a very happy customer.
Here in Brisbane the germination started in 5 days and the strike rate has been extremely high. The colour is uniform and vibrant - the best seed I have ever purchased. You certainly get what you pay for - a high quality product!
Took a while to get it established but now it's great. Good looking lawn with a nice colour. Hopefully stays like this throughout winter.
From having $30/m2 Sir Walter turf that was crap to a lush lawn within 4-5 weeks from sowing the Elite Backyard Blend. Very very happy with the results and highly recommend this product. People are astound when they have a look from what was there to what we have now. Thanks McKay seeds A++++ rated from me.
Highly recommend the Kentucky bluegrass seeds for Victorian climate
I received great advice when making seed selection.
Seeds were delivered in a timely manner.
Sowing instructions provided with the seed order were clear and helpful.
Germination occurred over 2-4 weeks (as advised).
Some areas germinated earlier than others based on amount of shade/sun exposure.
After 8 weeks - new lawn growing strongly - see attached photos: Day 1 vs. Week 8.
I may need to oversow a "few" patchy areas that are in heavily shaded areas. However, I'll wait to see if it "thickens" up over the next 3-4 months
Great result. Really happy with product and ongoing advice.
Thankyou for the excellent product and service.
Seeds are of high quality and grass started appearing after 14 days. Highly recommend Mckays!!
great to deal with, delivery was acceptable even with the current covid delays.
Have used the seeds before and they are fantastic.
Planted seed took 14 days to germinate. Coming up thick and fast now. Best grass seed I have ever bought.
