Detailed Description

The Temperate Pasture Blend is expertly crafted to deliver a robust and resilient pasture solution for temperate regions across Australia. Designed with a focus on strength, drought resistance, and grazing tolerance, this blend is ideal for creating durable and lush pastures that can thrive year-round. The combination of Summer Active Tall Fescue, Excess AR1 Ryegrass, and Feast 2 Ryegrass ensures rapid establishment and regrowth, making it perfect for maintaining vibrant pastures with minimal input.

This blend is particularly suited to areas with temperate climates, including Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and New South Wales. Its adaptability to these regions ensures that it can withstand varying weather conditions while maintaining its quality and resilience.

Blend Composition

  • 40% Summer Active Tall Fescue – Provides a strong base and enhances drought resistance.
  • 32% Excess AR1 Ryegrass – Contributes to the blend’s durability and nutrient quality.
  • 28% Feast 2 Ryegrass – Ensures quick establishment and regrowth for consistent pasture quality.

Sowing Tips

For optimal results, sow at a rate of 25 kg/ha. Prepare the soil well to ensure good seed-to-soil contact, and maintain consistent moisture during the germination period. A well-prepared seedbed will facilitate rapid establishment and growth.

Optimal Planting Time

The best time to plant the Temperate Horse Blend is during the cooler months when soil temperatures support germination and growth.

Water

This blend requires a minimum of 600mm annual rainfall to sustain healthy growth. Ensure consistent watering during dry spells to maintain pasture quality.

Fertilising

Regular fertilisation with a balanced nutrient mix will enhance growth and pasture quality. Applying a high-quality fertiliser, such as McKays Slow Release Lawn Fertiliser, during the active growing season will support vigorous growth and maintain nutrient levels in the soil.

Grazing

The Temperate Horse Blend is designed to withstand grazing pressures, making it an excellent choice for horse pastures. It is important to manage grazing intensity to ensure long-term pasture health and productivity.

Ideal Usage

This blend is suitable for pastures, park areas, and other landscaping projects where a durable and resilient grass solution is required.

Keep capeweed at bay.
I did a small area of seed 50m×20m after killing off some capeweed and the seed started growing after about 9 days and is growing well since I did a bigger area 3X the size and waiting on rain but should do well . i hope . thanks.
