McKays Buffalo Grass Seed Blend is an excellent summer active lawn with good shade, drought and frost tolerance.
It is a great affordable option for establishing a magnificent buffalo lawn from scratch.
Being a running variety, buffalo is also highly durable as any wear and tear will 'self-repair'.
Compared to laying turf it makes great sense too.
In order to establish a 100m2 lawn using turf would cost between $800-1200 vs. less than $142 with seed.
With all the money saved you can buy a new set of swings, or an outdoor setting from which you can admire your new lawn.
There's also no back breaking work to be done carrying OVER a TON of turf up the driveway. Simply prepare your soil, and then sow.
McKays Buffalo Grass Seed Blend is one of the only Buffalo varieties available as Seed, and our blend contains a very high 50% Buffalo content to ensure a high quality buffalo lawn.

Grew 10cms from seed in four weeks in Melbourne planting in late March so ordering more. I might have gotten lucky with late warmth and rainfall but very happy regardless.

All worked well, good strike and good beginning. Sadly hot dry weather is taking its toll, so am not overly hopeful. No fault of the product or service, simply bad timing
