Do you offer Refunds?
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect item).
What is the difference between pure seeds and blends?
The blends we sell in our store are a mix of annual ryegrass, fertiliser and a pure seed. In our blends, the Annual ryegrass provides a safety bed which protects and nurtures the growth of the pure seed. The annual ryegrass will eventually die off after 12 months (usually due to warmer weather) allowing the pure seed's aggressive runners to take over and fill out the old areas.
Our blends are cheaper than the pure seeds, so if you are price conscious a blend can help you get started, and as ryegrass is better suited to colder weather, we recomend blends to our customer in colder climates, such as Victoria and Tasmania.
Is your Buffalo seed the same as Sir Walter?
Unfortunatly no. We do sell a bufflao, but the blades of this grass are much thinner, and not the same as the thick bladed Sir Walter. Please see the buffalo page to see an image of the final result.
Do you Guarentee germination for your seed orders?
As we cannot control the quality of the seeds as soon as they leave our location, We do not guarentee seed germination for any orders. To give yourself the best possible chance of germination, plant your lawn seed as soon as you recieve the seed, and be sure to follow best prectices- make sure the new seeds are covered with some soil (not just thrown on the ground), keep them watered, protected from birds ect. If you need to store your seeds, keep them in a cool, dry area, away from any potential rodents.
In addtion, as we cannot control your soil preperation, we take no responsibilty for the outcome of your seeds.
The blend I want is not on the website, can I order something else?

What if I want an order over 20kg of seed?
You can order as much seed as you need, for custom orders give us a call: 1300 703 491.
How soon after applying fertiliser can I plant grass seed?
You can plant grass seed immediately after applying fertiliser. Please make sure there is no weed preventer in the fertiliser, as this will also prevent the grass seed from germinating.
Is it ok to plant grass seed immediately after spreading weed and feed fertiliser?
Most weed and feed fertilisers contain a herbicide that prevents seed germination, so it is recommended to wait until your new grass is well established and you have mowed it a minimum of 4 times (usually 6 to 8 weeks) before applying a weed and feed fertiliser.
Do I have to reseed dead patches in my lawn or will it grow back?
Dead grass will not regrow; you will need to reseed dead patches of grass. We suggest you first make sure disease or insects are not the cause of the dead patches of grass. Reseeding will not eliminate disease or insect problems.
Do I apply the fertiliser before seeding or after?
Apply the fertiliser before seeding. You can also apply fertiliser 8 weeks after gemination to give you lawn an extra kick.
When is the best time to plant a new lawn?
it depends- Most people will say Spring and Autumn are the best times to plant a new lawn- but the most important factor for seeding is the weather. You can plant warm season grasses, (Kikuyu, Couches, Zoysia, Buffalo, Queensland Blue) any time of year, as long as the weather is over 27 degrees celcius, ideally 30+. For other grasses like Ryegrass, Fescue and Bentgrass, its better to plant when the weather is under 20 degrees to get the best germination results.
Do I really need to water the areas where I have planted grass seed to have it grow?
Grass seed needs to be in contact with the soil and have moisture in order to germinate. You will have better germination rates if you keep the grass seed moist (not saturated).
